Heidi Chisolm will guide us through a hands-on artisanal process starting from newly-shorn sheep fibers. We will transform those fibers into wool yarn. Participants will be able to turn the crank on a drum carder to comb out the wool, then twist it into a single strand of yarn using a drop spindle. The next step will be plying two single strands into homespun yarn on a spinning wheel. Finally, a small weaving project will allow us to create an artistic sample of fabric.
